WONDERLAND DREAMS
POST-EXPANSION IMPRESSIONS

A month of absolute Neutral Blood dominance was finally brought to an end with end-of-July nerfs. Let these votes be a testament to the exceptionally broken Wonderland Dreams expansion meta.

Note: The following expansion cards have been nerfed, and thus voting may not reflect their current power level: Tove, Spawn of the Abyss, Princess Snow White, Goblin Leader; Big Knuckle Bodyguard, Scarlet Sabreur, Falise; Alice, Lion of the Golden City, Shield of Flame

Six of these cards were mainstays in Neutral Blood, two in Aegis Haven, and two in Dirt Rune. Among the next four cards, three were components in Neutral Blood.

The greatest surprise here was Tove-- a card which was initially regarded as utterly useless, and the most underrated card ever polled. However, all of these cards but Ephemera became major mainstays in expansion archetypes, making it somewhat incriminating that they were all overlooked.

This expansion brought several relatively interesting cards that most likely won't see competitive play. Interestingly enough, though, some players seem to have been able to incorporate Corpselord into meaningful Shadow lists.

Fairy Dragon, Abomination, Heinlein, and Bandersnatch were initially hailed as incredibly powerful scaffolding cards, but none of them ended up making the cut (although some people are still trying with Abomination). Fairy Dragon is also the most overrated card ever polled (excepting the Minthe wording fiasco).

Corpselord of Woe somehow managed to move up out of the Worst 10-- from 25 to 30 points. In its place, we now have Dramatic Dragonblader.

There was no keyword this expansion, but there was Neutral synergy, carried on the back of Alice. Some of these neutral synergies far outstrip comparable faction cards-- especially the notorious Goblin Leader > Alice combo, which established an oppressive Neutral presence for the entirety of July.

(First score: All cards average. Second score: Top 3 cards average.)
The top three classes of the expansion meta were Blood, Haven, and Rune, while Forest, Dragon, and Shadow received little comparative support. Sword occupied a changing ground, but with its best cards supporting half-dead archetypes, it ultimately failed to secure a spot in Tier 1.

The rarity gradient has shrunk even further with a developed meta, down to 15 points from 18. In the post-TotG voting, this split was 26 points.
